Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assists customs brokers in processing import and export documentation.
- Communicates with clients to gather necessary information for customs clearance.
- Verifies accuracy and completeness of customs documents and declarations.
- Coordinates with carriers, freight forwarders, and other parties involved in the shipment process.
- Monitors shipment status and update clients on clearance progress.
- Resolves issues or discrepancies related to customs clearance.
- Stays updated on changes in customs regulations and procedures.
- Maintains organized records of customs documents and transactions.
- Collaborates with internal teams to streamline customs clearance processes.
- Provides excellent customer service to clients regarding customs-related inquiries.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus).
- Previous experience in customs brokerage or logistics is an asset.
- Familiarity with customs regulations and procedures is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changes in the customs brokerage industry.
